soooo.. as a fashion student and a girl who loves cute graphics, yk I had to make a post on my fashion favorites!! heres some things i am loving this summer into fall season! 

1. kitten heels 

i am LOVING all of the outfits with kitten heels. especially jeans with a cute batwing top!! the casual heel is so back and i love it. it's such a simple choice that just elevates the whole outfit. the coach kitten heels specifically are the cutest thing ever. it could be that i'm just a sucker for coach designs, but they're genuinely so adorable. with kitten heels i love how it's short enough to almost kind of be a flat but still has the heel curve. 

2. long midi skirts 

I LOVEE A LONG SKIRTTTTT. i remember in 2021 when the indie era of tiktok was happening, and I used to wear these midi ruffled skirts all the timeee. the skirts now are so so so much cuter with all of the different designs and colors. i love how the fabrics being used are light silk and flowy mesh. It gives a put-together, but also very unique-like, look. i also think the flip-flop combo with it is very cute. however it shouldn't be a casual or normal slipper like you'd wear to the beach. something a bit more polished and maybe even close to a fancy sandal. wearing a closed-toe shoe with a midi skirt can be quite risky and at times looks off-putting. 

3. isabel laurents

when i tell you i want a pair of these wedges SO BAD. these are super controversial in fashion right now, but for me it is a huge yes. i love a good wedge no matter what, but these shoes i really like specifically because i feel like it has a great balance of dressy and also street style. i just love a chunky shoe so much and the color these come in are so adorable. i feel like these style so well with baggy clothes like jorts and wide jeans. though for a more elegant-ish look, it can go so cute with a skirt or dress shorts and an off-the-shoulder blouse. 

4. statement belts 

i am such a sucker for accessories omg. statement belts are just such an easy way to add style to anything you're wearing; they're unique and show diversity in your clothing. i realllyy want to buy more belts that are colorful and have different patterns/designs for my outfits. for certain outfits, stackin belts can also be super cute, i love to see peope pull it off. 

5. foldover boots

MY OBSESSION RNN. foldover boots are so so so so so cute. it just SCREAMS fall and gilmore girls/gossip girl. i want a pair of brown ones so badddd! i love a denim skirt, sweater, tights, and a foldover boot combo for fall!! i feel like boots are kind of always in but i just love the shrugged/folded look over the shoe!! (like i said im a big sucker for chunky/big shoes) 

6. cropped cardigan tops 

i orginally saw these on tiktok from people cutting old shirts and tying them into the crop top layer. while i do like that idea and have tried it myself, i really love these cropped cardigans that are already designed like that and have a button in the middle to clip and unclip. i think it's so cute and frames the body really well. the fact that it's a layer also makes your outfit so much cuter and less basic. in the second photo, the girl isn't wearing one with a button, but hers is more like a flowy shrug?? i really like how that one looks on her, and I would love to find something like that. It's kind of the same shape as the batwing tops that are in style right now.

 1. Purple - Olivia Rodrigo 

well, first of all, her whole entire new album is going TRIPLE platinum in my room and on my AirPods every day. the entire song is just literally chills in my body and transcends me. the pre chorus when she goes 

"And it's crazy (it's crazy)

How I used to visit your town like a tourist

Now I got (I got)

A local grocery store and a favorite florist"

LIKE... it literally sounds like a coming-of-age movie at the end where the girl has finally chosen herself and is finding who she is in this brand new big city. Like, I can literally envision myself moving to New York City and just embracing all of the dreams and art that it has to offer when I listen to that verse. The way the song can go from this mellow, soft beginning that gives you a wave of nostalgia that you can't quite place yet, to then speed up into this upbeat montage of seeing the world in "purple" or, in other words, seeing the world in a newfound light is LOVELY. then, when she goes into the second pre-chorus and says..

"It's a small world (it's a small world)

When it only can revolve around us two

It's crazy (it's crazy)

I had big dreams 'til I tied myself to you"

OLIVIA??? IM SICK??? Like, this is actually my worst nightmare, and the way that she sings it so casually is just so insane to me like it got me in my FEELS. the way the music changes as she sings those lines specifically has me so baffled. the songs melody and rhythm are pretty upbeat and have this positive connotation with its sound but as you look into the lyrics, you lowkey just gotta pause. i feel like this whole album is very written in a state of limerence.  all of the things that are being said in the song are so much deeper than they seem. like girl, wdym you're shrinking your dreams because you're tied to a BOY now??? oh no no no honey plz. 

 2. Bags - Clairo (Recorded at Electric Lady Studios) 

sigh. oh clairo. this song is not new or even niche, but like, you just have to love it. it just holds so many different feelings in one melody. it has this mix of excitement, nervousness, joy, and a bit of yearning/sadness??? i feel like for me i kind of interepert it more as a song thats about entering the uncomfortable. it sort of feels like when you're at school and you're trying to talk to somebody or trying to do a task, but you're nervous and hesitating between staying where you are or getting up to pursue that action. 

"Can you see me? I'm waitin' for the right time."

like for me that just speaks that shes waiting for someone to save her from this new enviorment but she kind of has to find that spark in herself to just pick herself up and go.

SIGH CAUSE THAT PART IS GONNA GET ME EVERYTIMEEE. 

 3. Ain't in LA - Adela 

WHAT A QUEEN. like literally this has just been on repeat. tbh i dont even have a lyric analysis for this song it's just so good period. It genuinely just sounds so fresh and like straight out of 2016. i love how adela is bringing recognition for EVERYONE. #someonegottaholditdowninhawaii. she literally just did her big one with this one i dont even have much to say. the pointe shoes with the baseball cap and the dance like she is just so unique. the intro + chorus (whole song rlly tho) IS JUST CHEFS KISS. 

 4. Cool Kids - Echosmith 

WHEN I TELL YALL THIS IS MY SONG. growing up as the youngest daughter, my older sister was in middleschool/highschool 2014-2016. she used to play this song all the time, and it just brings me this amazing nostalgia. I'd definitely say this is my anthem for my junior year of highschool. like the instrumental of this song just CRIES highschool. if you ever need to romanticize high school or being a teenager, let me tell you THIS. IS. THE. SONG. also growing up listening to this as an elementary schooler i always saw the "cool kids" to be the high schoolers or middle schoolers. listening to it now, a little bit more grown up, is definitely kinda crazy in its own way. 

 5. Colors - Halsey 

hear me out. LIKE OK, yes, this song brings me back to musically and gacha life times. WHICH is what exactly makes it so good to listen to unironically. i mostly got brought back to this song because of the amount of tiktok edits of shows/books i reach and watch with it. BUT, that takes away nothing from its already amazing instrumental and vibe. like you are lying if you tell me that this song doesn't make you feel anything.

HE'S SO DEVOID OF COLOR?? HE DONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS?? 😭😭 like plz the way the lyrics, vocals, and lyrics perfectly capture this feeling of losing your spark and just being torn is crazy to me. let me be the first to tell yall.. EVERYBODY IS SLEEPING ON OLD MUSICALLY/GACHA LIFE SONGSSS.
